Gov. Jay Inslee announced today the appointment of John Fairgrieve to the Clark County Superior Court. Fairgrieve is currently the Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in the Clark County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and has been in various prosecuting attorney positions with the office for more than 10 years.
“John is well respected in the community, and has a long history of commitment to public service in Clark County,” said Gov. Inslee. “I am confident he will serve in this new role with the same dedication.”
Fairgrieve was a reserve in the U.S. Marine Corps until 2013, where he served a variety of duties and at multiple command levels. He was an active duty Marine from 1983-1987. Fairgrieve has a master’s in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College. He earned his law degree from the University of Oregon and his Bachelors of Arts from University of California, Berkeley.
Fairgrieve’s term begins next month. He is replacing Judge Barbara Johnson, who has served a distinguished career on the bench since 1987.
