Inslee joins leaders in calling for refugee resettlement

September 12, 2019

Story

Gov. Jay Inslee joined hundreds of state and local leaders in urging President Trump to continue to welcome refugees into communities all over the United States. The Trump administration is due to decide shortly what the refugee admissions goal will be for 2020.

"Washington state has been, and will continue to be, a state that welcomes those seeking refuge from persecution, regardless of where they come from or the religion they practice," Inslee said. "Refugees from around the world have contributed to the rich fabric of Washington state, bringing innovation and supporting economic growth and development. I join mayors, state legislators and other local leaders in urging the president to continue to welcome refugees in need."
