Gov. Inslee statement on SEIU Healthcare 1199NW and Swedish Hospital negotiations
Story Gov. Jay Inslee released a statement today on negotiations between SEIU Healthcare 1199NW and Swedish Hospital.
"While progress has been made over the past four days, both Swedish and 1199NW agree the contract dispute won’t be settled by the end of today. Therefore, both parties and the mediators have agreed to pause their talks.
“This will allow the bargaining teams to focus on the COVID-19 outbreak that is challenging our health care system. These are dedicated and expert health care workers who play a critical role in our response to the virus.
“The hard work of a new contract must still get done for the long-term stability of a very important health care system. We will be looking to reconvene as soon as possible."
