Optometry Board

Examines candidates for licensure and registration and holds disciplinary hearings. The Board also adopts regulations to promote safety and protect the public by regulating the competency and quality of professional healthcare providers under its jurisdiction. Board duties also include assessing and making recommendations related to complaints against optometrists which may range from a notice of Correction to a license revocation.

Statutory Term Limits
Member Requirements: Five licensed optometrists, and one consumer. Licensed optometrist must have at least four years experience and have been engaged in that practice within two years of appointment.
