Homelessness, State Advisory Council on

Makes policy recommendations to the Governor and to the Affordable Housing Advisory Board at least annually on ways to enhance the state's ability to respond to the needs of people who are homeless, who are at risk of becoming homeless, or who have been homeless. The Council will coordinate recommendations with the Affordable Housing Advisory Board and provide a forum for an integrated and consistent statewide approach to address homelessness.

Statutory Term LimitsNo member shall serve more than 2 full four-year terms.
Member Requirements: SACH consist of not more than 12 voting members, appointed by the Governor. The Governor shall appoint the chair from among the members. The Council shall select a vice chair from among the members.

Membership of the Council shall be as follows:
A. Two members representing nonprofit organizations that provide services to homeless people.
B. Two members who are or have been homeless.
C. A member representing youth.
D. A member representing a charitable or philanthropic organization.
E. A member representing private business.
F. A member representing city government.
G. A member representing county government.
H. A member representing the federal government.
I. A member representing the public housing authority who has the authority to make policy or to implement changes on behalf of the agency she or he represents.
J. A member representing the Interagency Council on Homelessness
