Trade Mission to France, Germany & United Kingdom
Governor Chris Gregoire led a delegation of Washington business, agriculture and education leaders on a trade mission to Europe in June 2005. Governor Gregoire recognizes that the global economic climate offers exceptional opportunities for trade and business development with Europe - the current strength of the euro and pound sterling relative to the U.S. dollar makes Washington products and services very attractive.
Governor Gregoire’s trade mission built on Washington’s strong trade ties with the European Union and focused on developing opportunities for our agricultural, manufacturing, tourism and service sectors. At the Paris Air Show, Governor Gregoire met with several aerospace suppliers considering locating operations in Washington. In Germany and the United Kingdom, Governor Gregoire and delegates focused on high technology, and attracting tourists to Washington.
