Project Overview Project Title:

Using Assessment Data To Develop Student-Centered, Technology-Rich, Intervention And Remediation Strategies.

Project Goals:

The goals of the project are to significantly increase student academic achievement, particularly for those students who have failed at least one Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL) test, and to improve student and teacher use of digital tools to enhance learning.

Project Objectives:

Enable School Communities To Create Systemic Change By:

  1. Utilizing multiple sources of technology-rich student assessment data.
  2. Utilizing student-centered, technology-rich, intervention and remediation instructional materials and strategies that address specific academic deficiencies identified through assessment data.
  3. Evaluating, and electronically documenting, the effectiveness of these student-centered intervention and remediation instructional materials and strategies, as evidenced by student achievement.
  4. Revising these intervention and remediation instructional materials and strategies in a timely manner to accommodate changing needs of students.
  5. Utilizing technologies that will easily link student assessment data and intervention and remediation instructional materials and strategies in a manner that is readily shared and accessed by both K-12 and higher education project partners.
Eligibility Requirements:

Washington State Colleges of Education (public), Washington State education agencies, school districts, school boards, education-related non-profit agencies, state educators and other education professionals were eligible to apply.

The recipient was required to partner with other educational entities, clearly document K-12 and College of Education collaboration and demonstrate leadership commitment to the grant proposal.
