Mission
The Council's mission is to maintain Washington's vigilance in preventing oil spills in marine and navigable waters, by ensuring an emphasis on oil spill prevention while also recognizing the importance of improving spill preparedness and response.

The Council is to ensure Washington's coastal and marine environments, and navigable waters, continue to be a source of beauty, recreation, health, ecological integrity, food production, and economic betterment for Washington citizens.
