Department of Health Publishes Autism Guidebook for Washington State
The Washington State Autism Task Force, a group of parents and professionals appointed by the Governor, created The Autism Guidebook for Washington State to support family and community members who make decisions about the care of children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related disorders. The guidebook was developed under the Governor's Caring for Washington Individuals with Autism Task Force and printed through funds provided by the State Autism Implementation Grant through the Department of Health, Children with Special Health Care Needs program.

Let's Talk About It: Your Child's Education
The Office of the Education Ombudsman and the Center for the Improvement of Student Learning at the Office Superintendent of Public Instruction offer, Let's Talk About It: Your Child's Education, for parents to listen to use on their computer.
This narrated slide show presentation provides a basic overview of the public school system and helps families initiate important conversations with teachers and other staff. The resource is perfect for parents to watch at home, as a presentation at a kiosk or as a conversation starter at a meeting.
This CD-ROM resource is available in English and Español (Spanish).
