Governor Jay Inslee announces Tri-Cities judicial appointment

Governor Jay Inslee today announced his appointment of George Fearing to the Court of Appeals, Division III, District 2.

Fearing has practiced law in the Tri-Cities area for more than 30 years and has extensive civil litigation and appellate experience. He is currently a partner at Leavy, Schults, Davis & Fearing in Kennewick. He has served on numerous community and civic organizations including Walla Walla University, Tri-City Junior Academy and the Washington State Bar Association.

“George has a long history of serving the people of Tri-Cities and is widely respected throughout the local bar community for his legal abilities,” Inslee said. “He has a passion for public service and I know will be a very competent and skilled appeals court judge.”

Chief Judge Kevin Korsmo voiced his support for Fearing’s appointment. “I’m very happy with the Governor’s selection. I’ve known George for over 30 years. He’s a tremendous attorney and will be an excellent addition to our bench.”

Fearing is replacing Retiring Judge Dennis Sweeney. The appointment is effective June 24.
