LTC Worker Training Workgroup

The Long Term Care Worker Training Workgroup was a separate entity from the Long Term Care Task Force, but worked in parallel on LTC worker training issues. The Long Term Care Worker Training Workgroup was charged with evaluating current training requirements for long-term care workers with respect to the quality of care provided to all people across all home and community-based long-term care settings. The Workgroup made recommendations relating to the:

  1. Appropriate number of basic training hours;
  2. Content of basic training curricula; and
  3. Development of criteria associated with certification of new long-term care workers.

The workgroup reported its findings to the Joint Long Term Care Task Force, the Governor and the appropriate legislative committees by December 1, 2007.
